Heritage Berkshire Pork

At Newman Farm our goal is to always provide our customer with the highest quality
Berkshire pork products available. These products originate from our family farm
where animals are raised to our own set of production standards.

-Production Protocol-

*All animals are 100% PUREBRED Berkshire.

*All animals in the breeding herd are housed outside in large pastures.

*Sows farrow in huts outdoors on pasture with no more then 7 animals per
acre. Pigs are weaned at 6 weeks of age or older.

*Piglets at weaning are housed in deep bedded pens until they weigh 45 to
50 pounds.

*All pigs over 50 pounds are reared in large pasture lots until they
reach market weight.

*Only corn-soybean meal based diet rations with vitamin and mineral supplements
are used.

*No therapeutic or sub therapeutic antibiotics are ever fed during any phase
of production.

*No growth promotants or animal protein by-products are ever used.

*All animals are provided plenty of bedded shelter and fresh water at all
times.

*All animals are handled and transported according to Humane Farm
Animal Care Standards.
