At Newman Farm our goal is to always provide our customer with the highest quality
Berkshire pork products available.  These products originate from our family farm
where animals are raised to our own set of production standards.We dare to compare our production protocol where our sows and their offspring are housed and reared in a truly natural environment across more than 200 acres. 

* All animals are raised in compliance with "Certified Humane" production standards. At Newman Farm we feel that you the consumer want a label you can trust.

 (The Certified Humane Raised and Handled label assures consumers that a meat product has been produced according to Humane Farm Animal Care's (HFAC) precise standards for humane farm animal treatment.)
 

 *Our Production Protocol*
 
 * All animals are 100% purebred Berkshire.

* All animals in the breeding herd are housed outdoors in large 5 to 10 acre pastures.

* Sows farrow in huts outdoors on pasture with no more than 7 animals per acre. Piglets are weaned at 6 weeks of age or older.

* Piglets at weaning are housed in deep bedded pens until they weigh 45 to 50 pounds.

* All pigs over 50 pounds are reared in large pastured lots until they reach market weight.

* Only corn-soybean meal based diets with vitamin and mineral supplements are used.

* Animal protein or animal protein by-products are never used.

* No therapeutic or sub therapeutic antibiotics or growth promotants are ever fed during any phase of production.
